Story
The marriage is threatened when the husband’s first love returns to town. The fundamental problem with this year’s PÖLP is that there were so few screenings of classic films, far fewer than the number planned for PÖLP 2023. As a viewer, I was torn by a majority of new films from up-and-coming talent that play with concepts and techniques, but whose fanciful shells contain a few revealing and refreshing pieces. The absence of time-tested classics therefore results in a lack of zest for my nerves. Among the new films, however, Out of Control, directed by the mature director Le Ny, stands out as a firmly established, gripping and emotionally complex film.
